thanks? Slightly more than a week ago, I went to a local electronics shop, looking to buy a low-end DVD player. The one I wanted turned out to be disontinued, but they had one left in another store which they could send over for me. 'Dandy!' said I, and went on my way. Sure enough, it arrived a few days later, and I was happy.

Today, I received in the mail a hand-addressed letter from the store, containing a hand-written, personalized, note of thanks of non-trivial length. While their intent was surely one of good natured customer service, it's really kind of creepy.

Oh, and there was an earthquake last night. Shakeyshakey. Ho hum.
