Beth Cavener does phenomenal work. This is the piece I'd most want for my wall. I could spend a lifetime appreciating those expressions.
Laurie Hogin's oeuvre is generally a little wild, but her classical interpretations are amazing to my eye. I have coveted Ophelia since I discovered her.
Wendy Klemperer has some wonderful outdoor pieces which would fit on the grounds I do not have.
Nature of Nature's Art is worth scrutiny.

With any objet d'art, the reasons one might enjoy the piece are (probably) completely orthogonal to those which drove its creation.
I am pleased that the world contains people who make these sorts of artifacts occur, whatever their reasons may be.
